About
We are a small company offering a professional service to companies and Individuals who wish to improve/assess their or their employee's driving skills.
The principle trainer is Richard Clarke who is exceptionally well qualified to assess and correct any deficiencies which are evident in your/your employee's driving skills.
Having qualified as an ADI (approved Driving Instructor) a number of years ago, Richard then went on to become Pass Plus registered to give further instruction to new/novice drivers in various road and traffic. These include:
Town Driving
All Weather Driving
Driving out of Town
Night Time Driving
Driving on Dual Carriageways
Driving on Motorways
Richard further increased his knowledge, experience and expertise by training for the ORDIT registration process.
ORDIT is the "Official Register of Driving Instructor Training" and is the only DSA recognised qualification for teaching potential instructors.
Richard was assessed by the DSA in two different tests, The test of Instructional technique in order to train a potential instructor to drive to "Part 2" standard (part 2 test is a one hour test with a maximum of 6 driver faults). The second test was to assess Richard's ability to train a potential instructor how to teach pupils, thereby playing the part of a pupil and correcting deficiencies in the PDI's (potential driving instructor) teaching technique.
This test was passed and is continually re-assessed every two years by the DSA.
Richard then took the FLEET Trainer test with the DSA. This consists of an extended Theory Test, a driving ability test which involves a one hour assesment drive with at least a ten minute commentary. A maximum of 4 driver faults are allowed in this test. The last test for the FLEET trainer test is a test of instructional/coaching which involves giving a presentation on FLEET driving including the benefits to the individual and the company, a pre-drive safety check demonstration and then a coaching session to the student/pupil/individuals.
The FLEET trainer registration is the only DSA recognised qualification for training company car/van drivers.
These tests are among the most arduous and difficult within the driver training industry and not many instructors have the will or determination to take them, therefore before you start using a company for your training ask them "what qualifiactions do you have?" How do i know i am getting value for my money?
Since publication Richard has also become an authorised Btec assessor for the "Driving Science" qualification and has also graduated from the Brake Federations Company Car Driver Course. |
